We are just two days away from America's Independence Day, known as the 4th of July. Everyone will celebrate with fun, food and most importantly a day off from work! Patriotic people will proudly display their flags on their porches. Folks will scramble to the beach, park and other various locations to see beautiful and majestic firework displays!I choose to celebrate this Independence Day as my own personal day of freedom. Freedom from everything that has held me captive. Freedom from negative emotions, people and behavior. Freedom from procrastination and laziness. Freedom from stress and worry.
My job has offered us two glorious days off in addition to Wednesday. So instead of lounging around, watching reality television (wedding shows are my favorite) and eating, I am going to work on the projects that have been placed in my heart by God. The first being to get more information on how I can turn Whole Souls into a non-profit organization! Its going to be a process and now that I have started, I don't want to stop. I want to be productive and still enjoy my time off.
While it is important to take time to relax and enjoy our days, we should also work toward our goals.
So celebrate Independence Day 2007 and take it as your own. Figure out what you really want, need, and desire. Make it your own by becoming independent of anything that is not adding or bringing joy and peace into your life.
As we become independent of the negative, our lives will explode into beauty, radiant colors & splendor - just like the firework displays we will enjoy on the 4th of July!
Please share how you will celebrate your Personal Independence Day or any other comments you may have!

I am a lurker on blackvoices and I came across you invitation in the entertainment section and decided to check it out. Thank you for creating such a wonderful site. I am a 31 year old single mom ready to make transition in my life. I am struggling in so many areas and truly needed some inspiration so this site was a pleasant surprise. The lonliness, financial hardship and relationship with God are all areas I am working on. I have bookmarked your site and will continue to visit. I nice to know I have a place to go for inspiration. Thank you!

Thank you for your kind words.
I totally understand what you are going through. Remember, you are never alone. As you go through the transitions of life, remember that God is with you. He will sustain you and provide everything you need. He is only a prayer away.
In the meantime, put your hand on your hip and let your backbone slip! Walk with your head high and a smile on your face!
This too shall pass, and you will LIVE to tell about it!
