Derek Fisher is quite a father...

Derek Fisher is quite a dad... He has decided to leave behind a multi-million dollar contract in order to care for his sickly daughter. Now while I applaud him for this, I actually think this is what fathers SHOULD do. They should be willing to sacrifice everything for the good of their family. A real man leads his home and cares for his children, not just financially but in every aspect.

So often, men can get caught up in supporting their families financially and they forget to just be there. Mothers and wives need emotional, mental, physical and spiritual support. Derek Fisher is a prime example of what a father and husband should be. And he is not just leaving a random job, he is leaving a job worth millions to support his loved ones...

And so it is with Christ. He left the beautiful and lavish comforts of heaven to come down and save us. He left a perfect world just so that He could live in our blemished, sick, and dirty one to experience what we experience, to feel how we have felt, to go through what we go through. He left that world to die just for you and me! Our heavenly Father sent Jesus, His only Son just for us. Now that is the true love of the Everlasting Father. It is awesome to know that men like Derek Fisher still exist (even when they are multi million dollar athletes).

And its even MORE awesome that we have a Father who loves us so completely and so truly that we need not fret or worry. Cause when times get tough you know you can call on Him and He will be there in EVERY aspect! Wholeness comes from GOD Himself!

THE STORY
Utah Jazz guard Derek Fisher was released from his contract Monday to care for his 10-month-old daughter, who has cancer. Fisher and his wife, Candace, said they needed time to search for the best treatment for their daughter, Tatum. "Basketball is not a priority. I don't have plans to retire ... I would enjoy playing the game, but there are a lot of things to consider," Fisher said at a news conference Monday.

Wow...like you said, this is what a father should do but I applaud him for making such a choice. And I know folks will say, so what? because he has money but I'm just lgad that the love of that money is not his prime motivator. God bless them and heal little Tatum!!
