Time is your Greatest Resource!

Isn't it funny how some weeks are jammed packed with things to do and some weeks are dead silent with NOTHING to do. I love the weekends that are filled with events because it just makes the weekend seem a little longer... I also like the weekends of rest and refreshment because they allow you to catch up on rest, projects and whatever it is that you need to do.

One thing we can never get back is time. And I choose to spend my time wisely and at places where I want to be. I don't have time to waste being around negative people or being in wack places. Time is our greatest resource, don't waste it. While it is important to enjoy what life has to offer and to rest, it is also important to build your life and make it productive and whole. And that will take some time.

You can't party or sleep away your troubles, eventually you have to deal with whatever issues you are facing.

So today's thought is... Make every day count, one moment at a TIME!

What dreams may come...

I have been dreaming and I have been dreaming big! I know that I want more out of life for my life. there are so many things I want to accomplish and do. And now I KNOW that I can. How do I know this? A lightbulb has suddenly turned on. Lately I just KNOW that I will accomplish my dreams.

God has given all of us a measure of faith and the tools to put that faith into action. You don't have to be stuck any longer. You can begin to plan and focus on those things that make you happy and bring you joy. What is it that you want to do? How long have you wanted to do it? All it takes is ONE step of faith to propel you into action. Write it down, start researching, take some classes, start saving money, even if its just one dollar at a time!

Dream building may start off small but it will yield a large bounty in the long run!

What dreams may come? The dreams that you start actively pursuing! You can begin even now... Happy dream building!

Habukkuk 2: 2-4

Then the LORD answered me and said: “ Write the vision. And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

4 “ Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

Feeling Lonely...

Today I woke up and I was in bad mood. I felt alone like the bird in the picture. Have you ever felt alone in a room full of folks? Have you ever thought about going backwards to a place or with a person that you KNOW is no good for you? Those are the questions I pondered in my heart today. Is it loneliness? Is it PMS? Or is it just the summer fever of wanting someone near? Whatever it is, I need it to dissapate and FAST!

One thing that keeps me is the fact that I anything that God has for me is NOT in my past! He has something GREATER for us in our future! So if HE has instructed you to let a person, place or thing go, it is for your good and He has something much more wonderful in store.Right now I don't see the wonderful and I don't feel the miraculous, but this is where faith steps in! I believe and know without a shadow of a doubt that His plans are to prosper me and not to harm me. I know that His plans will exceed my very expecations in all areas... So I wait in expetation and peaceful hope. I may cry while I wait, I may get annoyed while I wait but I will wait!

Remember, never look back when you are getting anxious but rather, LOOK UP! Sooner than you think, you will turn around and see how far you've come and how much happier you are! You also be glad that you did not GO BACK! It does not always feel so good in the beginning, BUT it will be worth it in the end!

God DOES answer prayer!

How many times have you wondered why God did not answer your prayer?

I have the answer to that question. GOD always answers prayer, though not always in the way we expect. People often look for a desired result as the answer to prayer. And sometimes you do get a desired result, but, there are those times when the result is not quite what you expect.

God knows the desires of our hearts, He understands our needs and has promised to supply every one of them. Not just the financial ones, but the mental, emotional, relational and spiritual ones as well.

He cares about every detail of your life. How do I know this? Because His word says that the very hairs on your head are numbered. Meaning that, He not only knows how many hairs are on your head, He knows each one by number. Another way I know that He cares is because He said that not one sparrow can fall to the ground without His knowledge and that we are worth more than many sparrows! He is so awesome in that He cares about every creature, especially you and I.

I remember the time when I went through a 2 year period that was really a series of unfortunate events. I lost my job, then I could not find another one. I was in a terrible hit and run car accident. My father died (leaving nothing, so my family and I had to handle the financial obligations of a funeral), not to mention finding out how he died practically broke my heart, and the list goes on. It was a dark and trying time that was filled with tears and heartache. There were times that all I could do was pray and ask God for mercy. And you know what? He answered those prayers, miraculously.

The miracle was not in the fact that I finally got a job. The miracle was in the fact that HE SUSTAINED me through it all and I still had my right mind. The miracle was in the fact that though my money very tight, I was never hungry and I did not have to beg, borrow, steal or lay on my back to make ends meet. (I know that’s raw but you get my drift). God literally sent checks in the mail from various sources. There were even times when I found money on the ground. The miracle was in the fact that when I had reached my absolute breaking point (on several occasions), God sent people to keep me uplifted, Every day is filled with miracles… It may not look like you expected, but when you look a little closer, you will see the miracles.

Now, I know there are certain things you are praying for that will require a specific answer from God. You won’t want to be ‘sustained’ necessarily; you will want the exact solution you are asking for. Like the fact I want to get married one day. I need that prayer to be answered specifically with a wedding by the beach to the man of my dreams saying vows to me in front of God and my mama, followed by a beautiful life-long marriage. Ha! I am happy as a single woman, but God knows I want this period of singleness to end one day and begin the life of a happily married woman! *smile* And I know God will do it!

So my friends don’t ever let the enemy of your soul make you think that GOD does not care. Don’t ever let him deceive you with lies that the Father is not there. He is always there.

Don’t be discouraged, despondent, disappointed but rather be determined and delight yourself in the LORD and HE will give you the desires of your heart. He promised it in His Word!

Happy Personal Independence Day!

We are just two days away from America's Independence Day, known as the 4th of July. Everyone will celebrate with fun, food and most importantly a day off from work! Patriotic people will proudly display their flags on their porches. Folks will scramble to the beach, park and other various locations to see beautiful and majestic firework displays!
I choose to celebrate this Independence Day as my own personal day of freedom. Freedom from everything that has held me captive. Freedom from negative emotions, people and behavior. Freedom from procrastination and laziness. Freedom from stress and worry.

My job has offered us two glorious days off in addition to Wednesday. So instead of lounging around, watching reality television (wedding shows are my favorite) and eating, I am going to work on the projects that have been placed in my heart by God. The first being to get more information on how I can turn Whole Souls into a non-profit organization! Its going to be a process and now that I have started, I don't want to stop. I want to be productive and still enjoy my time off.

While it is important to take time to relax and enjoy our days, we should also work toward our goals.

So celebrate Independence Day 2007 and take it as your own. Figure out what you really want, need, and desire. Make it your own by becoming independent of anything that is not adding or bringing joy and peace into your life.

As we become independent of the negative, our lives will explode into beauty, radiant colors & splendor - just like the firework displays we will enjoy on the 4th of July!

Please share how you will celebrate your Personal Independence Day or any other comments you may have!

Derek Fisher is quite a father...

Derek Fisher is quite a dad... He has decided to leave behind a multi-million dollar contract in order to care for his sickly daughter. Now while I applaud him for this, I actually think this is what fathers SHOULD do. They should be willing to sacrifice everything for the good of their family. A real man leads his home and cares for his children, not just financially but in every aspect.

So often, men can get caught up in supporting their families financially and they forget to just be there. Mothers and wives need emotional, mental, physical and spiritual support. Derek Fisher is a prime example of what a father and husband should be. And he is not just leaving a random job, he is leaving a job worth millions to support his loved ones...

And so it is with Christ. He left the beautiful and lavish comforts of heaven to come down and save us. He left a perfect world just so that He could live in our blemished, sick, and dirty one to experience what we experience, to feel how we have felt, to go through what we go through. He left that world to die just for you and me! Our heavenly Father sent Jesus, His only Son just for us. Now that is the true love of the Everlasting Father. It is awesome to know that men like Derek Fisher still exist (even when they are multi million dollar athletes).

And its even MORE awesome that we have a Father who loves us so completely and so truly that we need not fret or worry. Cause when times get tough you know you can call on Him and He will be there in EVERY aspect! Wholeness comes from GOD Himself!

THE STORY
Utah Jazz guard Derek Fisher was released from his contract Monday to care for his 10-month-old daughter, who has cancer. Fisher and his wife, Candace, said they needed time to search for the best treatment for their daughter, Tatum. "Basketball is not a priority. I don't have plans to retire ... I would enjoy playing the game, but there are a lot of things to consider," Fisher said at a news conference Monday.
